Looking to expand your influence on social media? People want to see photos of people, not houses.
When you’re looking to increase the shareability of your content, it is important to remember that the number one factor determining whether or not someone clicks “like” or “share” is how well the content taps into the viewer’s emotions.
Think about the most recent pieces of content you’ve seen and, consequently, shared – an inspirational quote that motivated you? A panoramic photo of a cityscape that left you in awe?
These are the types of content that people share most often. A bland slideshow of yet another house’s kitchen and bathroom isn’t going to cut it.
How to use this methodology to increase the shareability of your content.
Every time you close a sale, do you take a photo of the happy client? If you aren’t, you need to. Better yet, have the new homebuyer stand in front of the doorway of their new home, or have the home seller stand next to the “SOLD” sign in the front yard. Want to REALLY maximize the impact of these types of images? Have the happy client hold a sign that states something to the effect of “Jane Agent just helped us buy our dream home!”
The effects of these types of images are twofold –
1) The emotions that these types of positive photos draw out of us make it far more likely that we will hit “like” or “share”, helping to spread your brand across social media channels.
2) These photos show success; they help establish a track record of “wins”. These photos provide the “social proof” that you help people to accomplish their goals, and achieve their dreams.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s important that you share your listings and advertise your open houses, but it is vital that you don’t neglect the showcasing of why it is that we all do what we do….to serve clients and help them reach their goals.
What are some of the best happy client photos you’ve seen? Share your favorites below.
